The Florida Biographical Index is a listing of Biographies of notable floridians contained in various publications. To see a list of these publications, please check the Source Documents List. These biographies were indexed by Mack Wills in 2009.
The listing is in alphabetical order by surname. It contains the dates (where known) of births and deaths, an indication of a photo of the individual (either photographic or engraving), and the place of birth outside the United States. Birthplaces in the United States are not shown. It also shows the document code and the page number where the article can be found. The information in the biography is in great detail in most instances and includes genealogical family data.
The source volumes are located in the St. Augustine Historical Society’s Reference Library, located on Aviles Street, in St. Augustine, Florida.
A list of Family Group Sheets was compiled by Mack Wills during the period from December 2009 through January 2010. This listing is of some Family Group Sheets located in the St. Augustine Historical Society’s files.
The original lists are in pencil on school-book, three-ring binder paper. The original author is not known. The sheets were numbered sequentially by the compiler. An example of one of these sheets, Family Group Sheet Number 22, is provided to show how they were constituted and to give an example to use when using the attached listings.
There were a total of 447 Family Group Sheets. The attached lists are the Family Group Sheets of the husband and wife as shown on the Family Group Sheet with the birth dates, where known, of the husband and wife, and the marriage date, also where known.
A second grouping, called the Auxiliary Group Sheets, was made of the other names on the Family Group Sheets, including the names of the parents of the Family Group indviduals, the names of their children with their birth and death dates, and the marriage dates and spouses of these children where shown.
