Robert James Libby, 83, passed away at Flagler Hospital on Feb. 13, 2010.
Mr. Libby was born in Portland, Maine. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II for 712 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a volunteer at the Council On Aging for more than 25 years.
No local services are planned.
He is survived by his brother, Harry E. Libby of Standish, Mass.; sisters, Dorothy Elswick and Katherine Doughty, both of Westbrook, Mass.; and his caregiver, M. Sue Durand of St. Augustine.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Edith L. Libby.

Joan Lichter, 84, of St. Augustine, Fla., died March 21, 2011, at Flagler Hospital.
She was born in Columbia, S.C., and had resided in St. Augustine most of her life. For many years, she and her late husband, Buddy Lichter, owned and operated H.W. Davis men"s clothing store, which remains in the family today.
She was a member of Congregation Sons of Israel.
Funeral services were held March 23, 2011, at Congregation Sons of Israel Cemetery.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Karen Lichter, St. Augustine; daughter and son-in-law, Cyd and Mark Khayter, Swampscott, Mass.; daughter, Dori Summers, St. Augustine; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Abbott "Al" Lowell Lieberman, 89 years young at heart, left this world peacefully in the arms of family at his home in St. Augustine on Sept. 18, 2011.
He honorably served our country in the 504th Bombardment Group, U.S. Army Air Corps, World War II. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart. His eldest son, Jay Leslie Lieberman, also a recipient of the Purple Heart, later perished serving our country in the Vietnam War.
Known as a positive, spiritual man, Al was a very successful, innovative businessman and lived his life to the fullest.
His life reflected his beliefs and faith in God. All who knew him drew confidence from the fact that he would always be there with unconditional friendship and love, a helping hand, and words of encouragement that his children and all, no matter what age or circumstance, have what it takes to accomplish anything the mind and heart desires and pursues.
His truth based on warmth, support and unbridled joy represented the talent Al effortlessly shared to create fun wherever life brought him.
His family legacy Ñ nine children (seven surviving), 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson Ñ are so very proud of him.
Truly, he will be missed by all whom were touched by his laugh, smile, positive energy, and twinkling eyes.
A memorial service celebrating Al"s life will be held at Craig Funeral Home, St. Augustine, 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011.

Margaret Ide Liebold, 86, died Feb. 26, 2010, at her home in St. Augustine. She was born in Detroit, Mich., on April 17, 1923, the youngest of three girls to parents Margaret Bryant and the Honorable OZ Ide. Margaret spent most of her life in Michigan, but also lived in England, Belgium, Mexico, and Denmark. Margaret settled in St. Augustine for the past two years and attended Trinity Episcopal Church.
A memorial service for family and friends is being planned at her summer residence in Groton, Mass., later this year.
She is survived by her husband, Robert H. Liebold, St. Augustine; two sons, Kurt R. Liebold, Detroit, Mich., Jon H. Liebold, Boston, Mass.; and five grandchildren, Lauren, Robert, Jack, Rick, and Margaret Liebold.

Melissa Lee Lightsey, 36, St. Augustine, died on Nov. 9, 2008, in St. Augustine.
She was born in Miami, Fla., and had resided here since January 2005, moving to St. Augustine from Coconut Grove. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.

Frederick A. Lindahl, 57, of St. Augustine, died on Sept. 24, 2009, at Flagler Hospital. Fred served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. A resident of St. Augustine since the 1990s, he worked as a driver for the Council on Aging for the past three years.

Patrick A. Lindsay, age 65, formerly of Muskegon, Mich., passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at a Haven Hospice Facility.
He was born Feb. 10, 1943, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Richard and Arlene Lindsay.
He was a graduate of Muskegon High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1964-1968. He married Char A. Williams on Aug. 18, 1971, in Muskegon. She preceded him in death on March 10, 1996.
He was a devoted husband, loving father and dedicated friend. He enjoyed cooking, bicycling and watching the Sci-Fi Channel.
Survivors include his two sons, Patrick A. Lindsay II of Holton, Mich., and Lyle L. Love of St. Augustine; his daughter, Jamie A. Lindsay of St. Augustine; and five grandchildren, Lance Beck, Samantha Krystera, Chris Keeny, Vicky Keeny and Lydia Williams; a brother, Richard Lindsay of Minerva, Ohio; a sister, Priscilla Anderson of Spring Lake, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son and a daughter.
A memorial service will be held at Family Worship Center, 2040 State Road 207, at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2008.

Charles Van Lindsey, 70, of Sebring, Fla., passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, in Avon Park, Fla. He was born Dec. 30, 1939, to Van Bryan and Marguerite (Bradford) Lindsey in St. Augustine, Fla., and had been a resident of Sebring since 2004, coming from Punta Gorda, Fla.
A member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Avon Park, Past Grand Knight of The Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree, he served in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1958-59. He was a law enforcement officer for the railroad and had been a deputy sheriff in St. Johns County and Monroe County.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lindsey of Sebring; children, Elizabeth (Ron) Crawford, St. Augustine, Viktoria (George) Gardner, St. Augustine, Van Bryan Lindsey II, Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Nicholas (Peggy) Lindsey, Pine Grove, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Avon Park. Donations may be made in his memory to the Knights of Columbus.

Gustaf G. Lindstrom III, 58, of Interlachen, died Dec. 19, 2009, at Roberts Care Center in Palatka.

C. James Jimmy Link died peacefully at his home with many of his loved ones at his side Tuesday, June 2, 2009. He was 76 years old. Jimmy had always been an active and resourceful man. He was devoted to his family and worked hard to support them by building a successful moving business. He owned Walls/Delaware Valley and Havertown/Westtown Moving Companies in Pennsylvania.
Survivors include his loving wife and best friend of 33 years, Deborah Link; daughters, Connie Matsko, Cheryl Fritz, and Judy Link-Clemens; sons, James C. Link, Thomas H. Link, John L. Link, and Robert "Bob" Link, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home, St. Augustine, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jimmy's name to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Mrs. Mary Ellen Linn, 43, most recently of Keystone Heights, Fla., passed away from complications due to multiple sclerosis at her home on Friday, April 23, 2010. Mary was born on Nov. 7, 1966, in Kalamazoo, Mich., and was raised in Bronson, Mich., where she graduated high school with honors.
She received a bachelor of science degree in biology at Michigan State University in 1988 before serving as a secondary chemistry and biology teacher in Ohio and, later, Florida, where she married her husband in Crescent City, Fla., in 1993.
She later earned her specialist degree in school psychology at the University of Central Florida in 1995 before serving as school psychologist in St. Augustine, Fla., Adrian, Mich., and Lancaster, Pa. She returned to Florida in recent years to focus on raising her family. Mary touched the lives of so many students and cherished her work in education. She also was a faithful Christian, serving as a Sunday school teacher at St. John’s Episcopal Church of Marietta, Pa.
She was also active as a member of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Society at UCF and MSU, where she was also a proud member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She struggled greatly with M.S. in recent years but never gave up her spirit or fight, always in hope of a cure.
She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Robert Linn, and their two precious children, Trent James Linn (12) and Aubrey Elizabeth Linn (8), all currently of Keystone Heights; parents, Norman Eugene Lahrke of Coldwater, Mich., and Elizabeth (Bond) Cranson of Middlebury, Ind.; and sisters, Susan Mueller of Angola, Ind., and Diane Zuckswertz of Owosso, Mich. She is also survived by her in-laws, Gary and Rebecca Linn of Ocala.
A celebration of Mary"s life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010, in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Don Corbit officiating. Following the service, a gathering to celebrate Mary"s wonderful gifts and contributions to the lives of so many will be held in their lakefront cottage.

Robert Francis "Lucky" Linton, 77, of Elkton, Fla., died June 15, 2009, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in New York City, N.Y., and had resided in Elkton the past six years. He was a retired civil engineer working in the heating and air conditioning business. He served in the Merchant Marines.

Arthur Lee Llorca, 69, of St. Augustine Beach, Fla., died April 15, 2010, at the McGraw Hospice Center, Jacksonville, Fla., after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Chicago, Ill., and resided in St. Augustine Beach since 2006. Art was a retiree from two successful careers, first as a military officer and later as a psychologist/forensic examiner.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ann Aucker-Llorca; three sons, Raymond Llorca of Folsom, Calif., Michael Llorca of Plano, Texas, and Robert Llorca of Beloit, Wis.; his sister, Aida Henley, of Tovey, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Madelyn, Norah, Joshua, Gavin and Natalie.
Art had a distinguished military career as an officer with the United States Army. Highlights include tours of duty in the Republic of Vietnam, where he led infantry troops in combat operations. His leadership on the battlefield earned him numerous awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star Medal (2nd OLC) and the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in combat.
He pursued a second career from 1980 to 2007 as a psychologist/forensic examiner. In this capacity, he was a board-certified forensic examiner and held the prestigious diplomat status with the American Board of Forensic Examiners, as well as fellow status with the American College of Forensic Examiners.
A celebration of life is planned in Art's honor for Sept. 21, 2010, on St. Augustine Beach.

Donna Marie Lippus, 44, of St. Augustine, passed away on April 2 at her residence in St. Augustine. She was born in Glendale, N.Y., and was a longtime resident of Selden, N.Y., before moving to St. Augustine in 2002. She was a certified nursing assistant and a genuinely compassionate caregiver to her patients, having worked for the Center for Living and other nursing facilities in the area for several years. She was a member of Anastasia Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother, Diane Lippus of Selden; her fiance, Carmine Algeria of St. Augustine; brothers, William J. Lippus of Baton Rouge, La., Michael J. Lippus of Orange City, Joseph William Lippus of Selden and Robert J. Lippus of Patchogue, N.Y.; aunt, (and second mother) Marion VanBrunt of Fort Myers; and aunt, Nancy Menk of Kings Park, N.Y.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Dr. Walter West officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.

Archibald Little Jr., 84, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010, at his home in Stillwater, Okla.
He was born Oct. 26, 1925, in New York, N.Y. to Archibald and Shirley Warren Little. After graduating from Ketterlinus High School in St. Augustine, Fla., he served in the American Field Service during World War II as an ambulance driver attached to the British Eighth Army.
In 1948, he earned his bachelor"s degree in industrial management from Georgia Tech University.
He married Vivian Collins Little on Oct. 29, 1949, and they enjoyed 55 years together until her death in April of 2005.
In 1950 they moved to Tulsa so that he could take a position with Public Service Company of Oklahoma, and a little more than a year later he transferred to Bartlesville, where he rose to the position of area manager.
In 20 years there, he served as an officer of the Bartlesville Chamber of Commerce, the Kiwanis Club, the Jaycees, the United Fund, the American Red Cross Chapter and the Boy Scouts. In 1972, Arch was transferred back to Tulsa to take the position of region manager. He served numerous other positions with PSO in Tulsa until retiring on disability in 1981.
Arch and Vivian enjoyed many years of showing dogs with the Mid Continent Kennel Club of Tulsa.
In 1986, they moved to Springdale, Ark., where he was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, achieving 26 years of sobriety and mentoring numerous other souls. He attended St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Springdale until moving to Stillwater in May of 2009.
He is survived by two children: a son, Laurence Little, and his wife, Kim, of Tulsa; daughter, Lisa, and her husband, Lee Roy, of Stillwater; a sister, Letitia Reilly, and her husband, Phil, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one on the way.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Dr. Steven Thomason and the Rev. Pam Morgan, officiating.

Sarah "Sally" Little, 73, of Littleton, Colo., died May 2, 2008, at Littleton Adventist Hospital. Ms. Little was a native of Burbank, Calif., and had resided in St. Augustine for 30 years, coming here from Gainesville. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Magna Carter Dames. She loved the beach, smoking and a Manhattan. She was a bookkeeper and was of the Presbyterian faith.
Survivors: Daughters, Arlyne Gemmell, Gainesville, Amy Little, Charlottesville, Va., and Abby Barger, Littleton.

Laura Alice Livermore, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away on Feb. 16, 2011, at Baptist Hospital South.
She was born on July 11, 1959, in Washington, D.C., to the late Herman and Barbara Brady. She was a loving mother and retired information systems professional.
Laura was a member of Fruit Cove Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Craig Funeral Home Chapel in St. Augustine, Fla. Dr. Tim Maynard will be officiating.

Bonnie Faith Lock, 78, passed away suddenly with her beloved family close by her side May 16, 2009. Previously of Redwing, Minn., Tucson, Ariz., and St. Augustine, Fla., she settled her roots with her loving daughter Wendy in Orange Park, Fla. Bonnie spent her life in unselfish service of others as a nurse before she retired, then as a volunteer at Flagler Hospital and Orange Park Medical Center. Bonnie, a true naturalist, left behind numerous paintings of the world as beautiful as she saw it. An avid cook, Bonnie spent countless hours preparing special and favorite meals for family and friends for all occasions.
Those left behind to cherish eternal memories of love and never-ending support include sons, Bruce and Dru Pearson; daughters, Wendy Taylor and Amy Coonrod; sisters, Joanne Kilde and Pam Rediger; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her beloved puppy, Coco.

Elder Henry Lee Lockett Sr., 59, St. Augustine, died Nov. 6, 2008.
Funeral service, Saturday 11am, St. James Baptist Church, Rev. Nathanial Jackson, pastor. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery, visitation will be held on Friday 5-9 pm at Chase Funeral Home. At the church from 10 a.m. until service time.
He was a member of New Hope Universal Holiness Church #2, and the pastor of that church. He attended Richard J. Murray High School, where he lettered in football.
He received his training for paratrooper at Fort Benning, Ga. He served in the Vietnam War, receiving a Purple Heart and several other medals. He served with the 25th Infantry Division.
He graduated in welding, brick mason and chef from the St. Augustine Vocational Training School.
His mother, Marietta Lockett Saul, father, Lester Lockett Sr., and brother Lester Lockett Jr., preceded him in death. His daughter, Renae Lockett Oxendine, and son, Henry Lockett Jr., also preceded him in death.
His wife, surviving, Rosetta Lockett, St. Augustine; brothers, Elijah Davis (Evelyn), Jacksonville, Wallace Lockett (Lillie), Houston, Texas, Willie C. Leonard Albert Loepp, 77, of Coquina Crossing, Elkton, Fla., passed away Dec. 26 at a nursing home in Daytona Beach, Fla.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and had resided here for the past nine years. Leonard was a successful sales executive in Pittsburgh for 27 years before retiring. He was a member of Shores United Methodist Church. He proudly served in the United Stated Marine Corps.

Diane Lynn Loftman, 53, Hastings, died Aug. 26, 2010, at the Roberts Care Center in Palatka with her family by her side.
She was born in Covington, Ky., and had resided in the St. Augustine area for the past 48 years. She was a homemaker and a member of God's Way Baptist Church in Hastings.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at God"s Way Baptist Church in Hastings, with Pastor Jeb Smith officiating.
She is survived by a daughter, Christy Loftman; and a son, Charles Griffin, both of East Palatka; sister, Darlene Labrecque, St. Augustine; brother, Charles Warden, Orlando; and two grandchildren, Justin and Joshua Hartley.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Loftman, and her longtime companion, James Edward Griffin.

Elizabeth "Libby" Logan, 80, of St. Augustine, died on Feb. 6, 2010, at the Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring in Jacksonville.
Born in Montpelier, Vt., Libby spent much of her life in Newton, Mass., where she was a very active member of Newton Highland Congregational Church. She had been a resident of St. Augustine since 1999, and had served as office manager at Atlantic East Coast Condominium Association.
She is survived by her longtime companion, Joseph Ashton of St. Augustine; a daughter, Pamela McManus and her husband Thomas of Manchester, N.H.;, a son, Robert W. Logan and his wife, Susan, of Mashpee, Cape Cod, Mass.; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Joseph "Jody" Earl Logan Jr., 55, passed away on Dec. 2, 2008. He was born in Jacksonville, Fla., and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering and earned the professional engineer (PE) certification. Jody was self employed in Logan Engineering Co., for many years, designing site drainage and environmental permitting. He was also a certified general contractor.
Jody had a passion for flying, owning several planes in his lifetime. An avid boater, he enjoyed fishing and diving. Hunting and skeet shooting were other pastimes. He was a member of the St. Augustine Rod and Gun Club.
Jody is survived by his wife, Wanda; son, Joseph III (Angela); daughter, Brittany; one granddaughter, Eva; his mother, Virginia; one sister, Sally; brothers, Jeff (Amy) and Mark (Donita); and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph E. Logan.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Crescent Beach Baptist Church, 885 S.R. 206 E, St. Augustine, FL. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at Oaklawn Cemetery, Jacksonville, with Dr. David Beauchamp, officiating.

Patricia A. "MaMee" Logan, 55, lifelong resident of St. Johns County, entered into eternal rest Dec. 28, 2008, at Flagler Hospital.
She attended area schools and was a faithful member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board, senior and gospel choir, beautification committee and recorder for the St. Augustine Choirs Guild.
She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Logan, Carolyn Logan-Mitchell and Margaret Logan, all of St. Augustine; her mother, Eddie Mae Logan, St. Augustine; and brothers, Arthur Logan, St. Augustine, and Trell Dallas, Greenville, S.C.; and sisters, Barbara Logan and Martha Walker, both of St. Augustine, and Tonnette Boyd, Miami; nine grandchildren; and many devoted loving family members and friends.

Jo Ann Lohman passed away at Flagler Hospital on July 9, 2010. She was 74.
She was born in Berwyn, Ill., and, after graduating from Northwestern University School of Nursing as a registered nurse, worked as a hospital nurse. Later, she spent a summer as a camp nurse in Northern Wisconsin and then joined the Santa Fe Railroad as a courier nurse on their trains between Chicago and California.
In 1961 she married her husband of 49 years, Gordon, shortly after he was discharged from the Air Force. Not only was she the love of his life, she was also his best friend, adviser and confidant. The Lohman family lived in the Chicago area until 2000 when they moved to St. Augustine, Fla.
Jo Ann was a free spirit throughout her life. Never one to sit still, she was passionately involved in causes and endeavors she believed in. She was very interested in American Indian culture. She helped establish and volunteered at the Chippewa Museum and Cultural Center in Lac du Flambeau, Wis., a favorite vacation spot of the Lohman family. Jo Ann's favorite hobby was quilting, and she always had at least one project under way.
Upon moving to St. Augustine, Jo Ann became very involved with the South Anastasia Communities Association, where she served on the executive board, the Florida Wildlife Federation and the University of Florida's Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience.
No matter what she was involved with, Jo Ann always set the standard for commitment, and her integrity was above reproach. She was loving and kind, and, upon discovering a need, she would often quietly, and usually anonymously, see that the need was fulfilled. It can be said without exaggeration that her life made a difference.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Gordon; their daughters, Karin and Amy; her sister, Nancy Anderson; brothers, Fred and Charles Liedtke; and her two faithful dogs, Polly and Harry.
A memorial service will be held in St. Augustine in September.

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Charles Woodford Long, affectionately known as "Woody," announce his death on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008. We are comforted in knowing that he is now wrapped in the arms of the love of his life, his late wife of 55 years, Martha Ann Long, affectionately known as "Monk."
Woody was a retired Naval officer having served more than 20 years. He and Monk and their two children, Nancy and Cheryl enjoyed many different duty stations to include Spain, Scotland, Chile and Japan. Woody was a decorated war hero, having served in the Korean and Viet Nam wars.
He was the son of the late Wilton R. Long and Mary Frances Long of Shelbyville, Ky. He was born in Georgetown, Ky., in October of 1928.
He is survived by his two daughters, Nancy W. Johnson of St. Augustine, Fla., and Cheryl A. Johnson of Virginia Beach, Va.; his sister, Nancy M. Campbell of Louisville, Ky.; three granddaughters, Brooke F. Jones of Austin, Texas and Lauren N. Johnson of St. Augustine, Fla., and Lindsay M. Johnson of Virginia Beach, Va.; and his best buddy of 30 years Pat Payne. His sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Geraldine B. Long, 95, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Flagler Hospital on Sept. 30, 2010. She was born Dec. 9, 1914, in Moultrie, Fla., daughter of the late Noah and Elizabeth Cullar.
Geraldine graduated from Excelsior Adult Night School and later earned a Home Health Aide certificate. She was employed as a cook at the Floridian and Briny Deep restaurants.
She also worked briefly as a food service employee for the St. Johns County School District. Later on, her love for children drew her to become a foster parent.
Geraldine participated in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. She was a longtime member of the NAACP. She was one of two who first started the St. Augustine Soup Kitchen at St. Paul AME Church. She was a member of the Heroines of Jericho and the Daughters of Isis.
Geraldine loved working in her garden, growing plants, flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed socializing and playing bingo at the Council on Aging.
She was involved in many areas of work in her church and was a lifelong member of St. Paul AME Church until her demise on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010.
Precious memories will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory caring friends and devoted children: H. James Brown (Annie), Miami, Harriet B. Reynolds, Riviera Beach, Fla., Julia B. Thomas, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., George R. Theodore "Ted" Long, age 51 of St Augustine, died Oct. 12, 2008 in St. Augustine, from injuries sustained in a moped accident. He was an IT manager for Winn Dixie corporate headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla.
Memorial services will be held 4:30 p.m. Friday at Ancient City Baptist Church, with Doug Duggan officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until time of services at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Col. Bill and Marjorie Long.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Filippo and Asunta (Smurra) Longo on March 27, 1916, and died on Dec. 12, 2008, in St. Augustine at the age of 92. Both his parents immigrated to America from the Calabria region of Italy in the early 1900s.
Mr. Longo was proud of his Italian heritage, as he was very proud to be an American and veteran of World War II in Patton's 3rd Army, 6th Armored Division, Combat Command B. He served with distinction and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Distinguished Service Medal. On his Harley-Davidson knucklehead he delivered type for The New York Times during the 1930s. He moved to St. Augustine in 1948 and got "sand in his shoes" very quickly with his love of surf fishing with his brothers-in-law and friends.
A well-respected member of the business community, he and his wife, Patricia, owned and operated Mel Longo Appliances for 20 years. He was a valued member of the Whirlpool Appliance Corp. family and would put new models in the field and report to the engineers in Benton Harbor, Mich., on the successes and problems he encountered. He and Patricia retired in 1985.
He will always be remembered for his incredible work ethic as an honest and upright business man. But most important to him was the love of family, which he has passed on the importance of to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. What a great cook he was -- coming from Brooklyn -- he asked his sister, Bella, to send Italian recipes, which he then revised according to the ingredients he could find in St. Augustine during the 1950s! He was the ambassador of antipasto, the sultan of spaghetti, the lord of lasagna, the prince of pizza and the master of meatballs. The dinners on Mulvey Street and Vilano Beach for family and friends will long be remembered. He loved to read and always had interesting information to pass on from his reading. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and a member of Rotary International and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Playter Longo; daughters, Susan Longo Cowperthwaite (Bob), Franklin, Tenn., and Mary Anne Silva, St. Augustine; son, Mel Longo (Diane), St. Augustine; stepsons, Michael "Mickey" Edwin Luisi (Sue), Garland, Texas, and Neal V. McCarthy, Swansea, S.C.; grandchildren, David Olson (Sarah), Christopher Cowperthwaite, Adam Olson, Sarah Cowperthwaite, Christa Longo; and two great-grandchildren, Camille and Kayli Olson. Nine nieces and nephews survive Mr. Longo. His first wife, Helen "Nellie" Gibson Longo passed away in 1959.
Services are to be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church at 3 p.m. on Monday, today, Dec. 15, 2008. Mr. Longo was especially committed to altruism through his donations to the American Cancer Society and other charities. Jean (Nancy) Longstreth, 87, of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away on Feb. 1, 2008, at Moultrie Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Springfield, Mass., and was a longtime resident of Buffalo, N.Y., and later Athens, Ga., before moving to St. Augustine in 2006. Mrs. Longstreth was a member of St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church in Athens. She was also very active in the Lady's Gardens Club and the Cedar Creek Garden Club in Athens where she served as club secretary and treasurer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Paul Longstreth, M.D., and a son, Allen Lee Longstreth.
She is survived by a son, Paul Scott Longstreth and daughter-in-Law, Kimberley of St. Augustine. A celebration of her life will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church in Athens, Ga.

Sarah Lopez, 81, of St. Augustine, Fla., died Jan. 24, 2009, at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine. She was a member of the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine. Mrs. Lopez was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister.
In 2008 she was recognized as Outstanding Senior Volunteer of the year for Crookshank Elementary School as well as the Senior Volunteer of the Year for the St. Johns County School District and Florida Region II District Senior Volunteer of the Year. Through her children and grandchildren she had over 40 years of volunteer services at Crookshank Elementary.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine, the Rev. Christopher Liguori officiating. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Craig Funeral Home Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Louis Lopez; her brother, Robert Raulerson; and sister, Rosa Raulerson.

Mrs. Lord was born in Riverville, West, By God, Va., and moved to this area in 1969 from St. Augustine, Fla. She was a member of the Holly Hill Kiwanis, the Women of the Moose, St. Augustine, Riviera Country Club and the Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church, where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Lord enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, golf and reading and loved dogs and funny jokes. Most of all, she loved her family. She was predeceased by two sons, John David Seaman and Jim Seaman.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Till (John), Tallahassee, Fla., and Ida Gertenrich (Don), Kissimmee, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Carmen Polk (Scooter) and Debbie Lord, both of Micanopy, Fla.; and a son, Eddie Seaman (Linda), Holly Hill; 22 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Celia Page Lord, 89, of Old Dixie Highway, Espanola, Fla., died Jan. 28, 2008, at Flagler Pines Nursing Home in Bunnell, Fla. Ms. Lord was a native of Leesburg, Va., born March 15, 1918. She was a former resident of St. Augustine moving to Flagler County as an infant. She was a member of Bunnell High School class of 1936. She was retired from Flagler County Sheriff's Office after 38 years as a secretary, having worked for five Sheriffs and was a charter member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Old Kings Highway Chapter.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 at Espanola Cemetery, County Road 205 in Bunnell. The Rev. Doug Knight will officiate.
She is survived by five nephews, Lou Fortner, Tim Fortner and Shawn Fortner, all of Hastings, and Quentin Emery and Howard Emery, of Bunnell; five nieces, Deborah Lands of Hastings, Stephanie Gilchrist of Jacksonville, Fla., Beverly Emery of Bunnell, Kathryn Rich of Bonifay, Fla., and Patricia Marshall of Greenville, S.C.; also 36 great-nephews and nieces; 48 great-great-nephews and nieces; and five great-great-great nephews and nieces; one sister-in-law, Joyce Patrick of Espanola.

Tammy Lord, 49, passed away on Sept. 4, 2011, at Bailey Family Center for caring.
She attended school in Live Oak, Fla., for five years, and then spent five years attending school in Venice, Fla. She graduated from Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville, Fla., in 1980. She received her degree from University of North Florida in Jacksonville. Tammy taught preschool for 20 years and was a wonderful teacher who inspired many young children. She was a manager at Curves for five years.
She was a loving, caring, passionate Christian who had a positive impact on many lives.

Virginia Johnson Lord, 81, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at The Oaks at Forsyth, Winston-Salem, N.C. She was born Aug. 31, 1926, in St. Johns County, Fla., to the late Marion Lorenzo and Ruth Usina Johnson. Virginia was a volunteer at Forsyth Medical Center for over 20 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Carl Lamar Lord Sr.
Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Harris and husband, Harlow, of Florida, and Lois Darleen Smith and husband, Russell, of Winston-Salem; one son, Carl Lord Jr., of Denver, N.C.; six grandchildren, Tommy Glisson, Scott Smith, Patti James, Jason Smith, Michael Lord and Lamar Lord; three great-grandchildren, Scott and Michael James and Joseph Smith; brother, Gene Johnson and wife, Bessie; sister, Marion Booth and husband, Donald, all of St. Augustine. Also surviving are two stepgranddaughters, Sheila Chandler of San Antonio, Texas, and Kelly Cates of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and two step-great-grandchildren, Jessica Cates and Joshua Chandler.

Harold Ralph Lore, St. Augustine, Fla., was born Oct. 24, 1929, and passed from this earthly life to his Heavenly home Nov. 26, 2010, at the Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring.
Although Harold was born in Jacksonville, Fla., he lived most of his years in northern St. Johns County. He attended St. Johns County schools before his Army years, during which time he was in Korea. Sgt. Lore, tank commander, served with the 89th Tank Batallion of the 25th Division.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Craig Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. H. Harper, Bumpers, pastor St. Augustine Road Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Thomas B. “Tom” Louis, Sr.84, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2011, at his home. He was born and raised in Woodbury, N.J., and served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. Tom worked as a bartender and bar manager iln restaurants, bars and country clubs for many years. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Louis of St. Augustine; daughters, Ellen Mary Jones of New Jersey and Cathy Louis of New York; sons, Thomas B. Louis, Jr. lof New Jersey, Milchael Louis of Pennsylvania, Matthew Louis of New Jersey and Steven Louis of Pennsylvania; step-children, Steven Deffler, Kim Deffler and Craig Deffler; a sister, Mary Sacca of New Jersey; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughters Margaret and Barbara and a son, Robert.

Rosetta Louro, 81, passed away at the Hadlow Center of Hospice on July 19, 2009.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Rosetta enjoyed an interesting career as a dressmaker and designer. She lived in St. Augustine for over 25 years, where she was very active in the arts community and a member of the Cathedral-Basilica.
Rosetta will be lovingly remembered by her niece, Cheryl Andrew; nephews, Brian and David Peralta; sister-in-law, Florence Peralta; and two grandnieces and two grandnephews. Her brother, Edward Peralta, precedes her in death.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. with prayers at 6:30 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Cathedral-Basilica with Father Tom Willis officiating, followed by burial at San Lorenzo Catholic Cemetery.

Raymond Fredrick Klaus, 79, died peacefully at his home in St. Augustine on May 6, 2010, surrounded by his family, after a battle with lung cancer.
Raymond was born in Glencoe, Minn. He was a Korean War Veteran. His experiences throughout his life resonated in his spirit and his infectious smile and laugh and will be remember by all who knew him.
Raymond and his family moved to St. Augustine in 2005. He loved the European feel of the city and the history.
He was an outdoor person who loved fishing, the beach and hunting. In his later years, he enjoyed working at the Sports Authority, where he could use his encyclopedic memory of sports equipment, making friends from around the world. His greatest pleasure was when he crewed with the "Knot Home" team to win the 2007 Greater Jacksonville Kingfish tournament. He was a wonderful father and husband.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Klaus; daughters, Melissa Klaus-Fraser, Georgieanna (Tee) Klaus; and grandson, Alex Klaus Cartelli.
A memorial gathering is being planned for later in the year. Neptune Society was in charge of arrangements.

Roland Andrew Loveless, 81, passed away on March 27, 2009.
A native of Washington, D.C., Roland received his bachelor's degree from The Citadel, his master's degree from Boston University and did graduate work at the University of Notre Dame. He pursued a career in economic development at state, regional and local levels, which included heading state programs in Vermont and Kansas. From 1945 to 1946, Roland served in the U.S. Coast Guard. In 1989 he and his wife, Irene, retired to St. Augustine.
Mr. Loveless was a devoted member of the Catholic church, actively involved in the Knights of Columbus in Baltimore and local Council 611. As a fourth-degree knight, he served as financial secretary, a trustee and a member of the Council's First Degree team. He also served as a Eucharistic minister to Ponce Care Center residents and lector at Cathedral Parish.
Roland's avocation was acting. While in period dress, he made history come alive to thousands of people as an impersonator of both Henry Flagler and Teddy Roosevelt. He worked professionally as an actor and was involved with Elderhostel programs sponsored by Eckerd College and Georgia Southwestern State University.
Mr. Loveless is survived by his wife of 58 years, Irene; three children, Garrett, Heather and Keith; and two grandsons, Brian and Brandon.
A memorial Mass will be held in Roland's honor at Cathedral Basilica.

Veeda "Diane" Lovell (Wilson), 65, of St. Augustine, died May 8, 2010, at her home after an extended illness.
Born in Bradenton, Fla., she lived in Ohio and various cities in Florida until settling in St. Augustine in 1978. She most recently was employed by the local Salvation Army, where she served on the Advisory Council.
Diane's tireless efforts to better the lives of others helped to contribute to the well-being of the citizens of St. Augustine and St. Johns County in a variety of ways. In addition to serving with the Salvation Army, she was a member of the St. Johns County School Board for four years, during which she was chairman for one year, and was on the Head Start Policy Council.
In 2004, Diane was recognized for her volunteer efforts for Project Special Care by being named as a finalist for the Jacksonville Jaguars Community Quarterback Award. Diane was also recognized for her support and many volunteer hours for the Red Cross Blood Mobile fundraising Campaign in 1996. Additionally, she worked for many years as a volunteer for the St. Francis House Soup Kitchen. She was recognized for her effort to serve others by becoming a recipient of the WTLV 12 Who Care Award in 1989.
A memorial service will be held at Craig Funeral Home at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11. Immediately following the service, family and Friends are invited to gather at Tracy Markham's home located at 4340 County Road 305, Elkton, FL

She is leaving behind a legacy of helping others throughout her entire life. She never hesitated to give of herself to others and never requested any special recognition for herself. Her children are very proud of her and will always remember her special heart and what she taught them.

Joseph L. Lubonski, 87, of St. Augustine, died Feb. 23, 2008, at his home. Mr. Lubonski was a native of Philadelphia and had resided in New Jersey before moving to St. Augustine 26 years ago. Mr. Lubonski was retired from the Evening Bulletin in Pennsylvania after 45 years of service, having worked there as a print and ad composer. He was a veteran and a tank driver, having earned the Bronze Star while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was of the Catholic faith.
Services: A memorial service will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anastasia Catholic Church.
Survivors: His sons, Jerry, St. Augustine, and Joseph and William; sisters, Evelyn and Anna Rose, all of New Jersey; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Lyons Lubonski.

Mary Luby, 90, passed away July 16, 2011, in Jacksonville, Fla.
Mrs. Luby was born and raised in Bond County, Ill., the daughter of Grover "Doc" and Joyce Austin. After graduating high school, Mrs. Luby attended Greenville College and then taught school before her marriage.
Mary and Lawrence Luby were married on April 10, 1944, and had many happy years together before his passing in 1998.
Mrs. Luby was an active member of Anastasia Baptist Church and the DAR until recent years.
Mrs. Luby was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence ("Larry"); her parents;, one brother, Norman Austin; one son, Lawrence Luby III; and her son-in-law, Thomas Roch.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Roch, of Jacksonville; her son, Steven (Vonnie) Luby of Geneva, Ill.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Anastasia Baptist Church, St. Augustine, at 3 p.m., with Pastor Walter West officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour before the service. Interment will follow immediately at Craig Memorial Park.

Ruby L. Lucas passed away Aug. 28, 2008. Born in Choctaw County, Miss., Jan. 19, 1919, Ruby has resided in Duval and St. Johns County since 1957.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, W.C. Lucas, one infant son, Benny Ray, her parents Minnie and Bluford Dean, four brothers and seven sisters.
She is survived by five daughters, Carolyn Vogel, Dianne Smith, Bonnie Sellers, Faye Byrd, Mitzi Byrd; one son, William Gralin; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Jennie Lorraine Ludwig (Nelson), of St. Augustine, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, in Middleburg, Fla. Mrs. Ludwig was born on March 10, 1953, in St. Augustine. She was a graduate of St. Augustine High School. She worked as a secretary with the Department of Children and Families for 30 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who especially loved spending every moment with her grandchildren. She was an extremely caring and selfless person who put everyone before herself.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Robert William Ludwig, of St. Augustine; her brother, David B. Nelson Jr.; her sisters Donna Thomas and Denise Wilson; her children, Michael C. Clayton, Shelley E. Clayton and Lindsay N. Ludwig; her grandchildren; Kayla J. Smith, Ava C. Clayton, Dakota W. Nelson and Karli N. Nelson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David B. Nelson Sr.

Ms. Benita Keaton Lueders, 55, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 following a brief illness.
Ms. Lueders was born in Winston Salem, NC and had lived in Jacksonville and St. Augustine for most of her life. She attended Andrew Jackson High School, enjoyed gardening, worked as a Teller Supervisor for Security First & Wachovia Banks and volunteered at the hospital in St. Mary’s, GA.
Ms. Lueders is survived by 2 children: Jason Johnson and Amy Johnson Weaver; her mother: Mary Gay Keaton; 1 brother: Jimbo Keaton and 3 grandchildren: Cassi Johnson, Kristen Weaver and Glenn Weaver, Jr.

Gerald Robert Luginbuhl, 75, St. Augustine, died Feb. 28, 2010, at his home.
He was born in Rockville Centre, N.Y., and had resided in St. Augustine since 1996, moving here from Oxford, Md. He was a retired captain, retiring from Eastern Airlines after 33 years of service.
He was affectionately known to his friends as "Captain, Captain, Captain" because he was a captain in the U.S. Air Force, was a captain with Eastern Airlines and had a ship captain's license and ran a ferry in Oxford, Md. At the age of 70 he took up riding motorcycles and quickly became an avid biker. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a 50-year Shriner,and was a friend of Bill W.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010, with the Rev. Pete Wills officiating.

Joseph S. Lukas, 87, died peacefully with his family by his side on June 6, 2009, at Flagler Hospital
A native of North Little Rock, Ark., Joseph served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. He was in the Pacific Ocean for 20 months. In 1944, he married Madeline Andreu in the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine. He worked for Florida East Coast Railway from 1946 to 1983. He retired as an assistant track supervisor. Joseph was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Madeline Andreu Lukas; two sons, Robert A. Lukas Sr. of St. Augustine and Michael J. (Cynthia) Lukas of Nahunta, Ga.; one daughter, Cheryl (David) Andrews of St. Augustine; five grandchildren, Robert Lukas Jr., Angie Patterson, Jason Lukas, Danielle and Kyle Andrews; four great-grandchildren, Bryan and Kirsten Lukas and Dylan and Brynden Patterson; one great-great-granddaughter, Kenzie Lukas; and two brothers, Philip Lukas of Baton Rouge, La., and Valentine Lukas of Texarkana, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Valentine Lukas and Anna Sieppiella, four sisters and four brothers.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday with prayers beginning at 5 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Craig Funeral Home, followed by burial at San Lorenzo Catholic Cemetery with Father Seamus O'Flynn officiating.
He may be gone, but he certainly isn't forgotten and never will be.

De"Angelo Shurron Lumpkin was born on April 14, 1996, in Naples, Fla., to Annie Yvonne Kennedy of Naples and Henry Lumpkin, who was a native of Georgia. De"Angelo departed this life far too soon on Aug. 28, 2011, on Sapelo Island, Ga. He was a member of Pompey"s Temple Church of God, Hastings.
De"Angelo was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Annie; his brothers, Devon, Billy, Darius, Dontrel, Santonio and Brian; his sisters, Cartia and Lisa; foster parents, Pastor Randall and Florence Chestnut; and other family members.

Irma Oyer Lundholm, 92, passed away peacefully Feb. 5 at the Hadlow Center in Jacksonville. She was born to Joseph and Bessie Oyer in Peoria, Ill. She moved to St. Augustine from Missouri in 1984, then to Jacksonville four years ago.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter Lundholm, and her grandson Jamie Johnson.
Survivors include her daughter, Pat Johnson; son, Richard Lundholm; brother, Joseph Oyer; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
There will be a graveside funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Craig Memorial Park.

Edward "Pete," "Mr. Ed" Lundy, Hastings, passed away on Aug. 27, 2011, at Roberts Care Center, Palatka, at age 68. He was the son of the late Claudia Lee Lundy Sr. and King Walter "KW" Lundy Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Queen Mcfadden Lundy, and children Crystal, Walter and Cecil Lundy. Siblings: Mattie P. Felton, Lottie Coats, Carrie Milton, Ella Banks, Claudia Scott, Sarah J. Patterson, Gloria Parker and King Walter Lundy Jr.

Jean Jacks Luoma, 82, of St. Augustine, Fla., died on Aug. 27, 2010, at the Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Hadlow Center. Jean was born in Birmingham, Ala., to Ernest Gray Jacks and Eddie Pearl Ford. She grew up in Birmingham but also attended St. Augustine's Orange Street School. She graduated from Birmingham"s Howard College (now Samford University) and also studied library science through Florida State University. Jean moved to St. Augustine in 1971, after living 16 years in Scarsdale, N.Y. From 1971 to 1981, Jean and her late husband, Herbert Luoma Sr., owned and operated the Savette Store at 135 St. George St. She later worked as a librarian at Hastings High and Nease High School. Jean was one of the founders as well as past president of Friends of the Library of St. Johns County. She worked tirelessly with others to spearhead the drive to build a new, modern library in St. Johns County as well as pass a referendum for the development of the countywide library system. She was very active in the American Association of University Women (AAUW) in both St. Augustine and Westchester County, N.Y., where she was past president. Jean was an active member of the St. Augustine Sister Cities Association, Great Books and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a charter member, sponsor and board member of the Emil Maestre Music Association (EMMA). Jean was a member of St. Augustine's Grace United Methodist Church as well as the Scarsdale Community Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by the late Herbert Luoma Sr., her husband of 28 years.
Jean is survived by her son, Herbert Luoma Jr.; her daughter, Lindy Luoma of San Francisco, Calif.; a granddaughter, Jasmine Luoma; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Luoma; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held for her family and many friends. In honor of Jean Luoma, The Friends of the Library are developing a Children's Reading Garden at the main library. William Bjarne "Bill" Lupton, 64, of St. Augustine, died on Aug. 19, 2010, at Flagler Hospital.
Born in Newburgh, N.Y., he moved to St. Augustine as a young man and had lived here for most of his life. He attended St. Johns River Community College and Florida Atlantic University. For many years he worked at The St. Augustine Record. He enjoyed golf, the Boston Celtics and relaxing in his backyard.
He is survived by a daughter, Regina Ellis of Pearland, Texas; sons, Christopher Lupton of Eugene, Ore., Michael Lupton of Orlando and Robert Phillips of Fresno, Texas; a brother, Ben Howatt of Huntersville, N.C.; a niece, Lauren Howatt; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

When Greg H. Luter died July 14, 2009, at just 42 years of age, he had accomplished more than most do in a much longer lifetime.
With his brother and equal partner Michael, he was a pioneer in digital photography at the professional level and converted studios and installed digital systems at hundreds of businesses throughout the country.
Greg Luter was chairman and CEO of Luter Enterprises LLC, which is the owner of Desktop Darkroom, which sells and integrates photo equipment, Desktop Digital Lab, StudioCity Photography and StudioStyles, a fast-growing online photography training and support center. The operations are headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla., on University Boulevard West, and employ about 50 people.
In the early years, the company became the world leader in professional-level digital systems, and the second fastest growing business in north Florida. Desktop Darkroom was incorporated in 1989, and the companies continue to be very active during the current constraints on small businesses.
Mr. Luter died after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
A gathering of the family will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at George H. Hewell Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd. South, Jacksonville. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ Church, 6045 Greenlawn Road, in Mandarin.
He is survived by his wife, Shelley; children Chandler, 11, and Mallory, 7; brother, Michael; and parents, Joe (founder of the business) and Mary Ellen.
He was active in the Professional Photographers of America and the Photo Marketing Association and their affiliated organizations, and he and his companies were often brought the difficult questions and problems by manufacturers. Mr. Luter was an MBA honor graduate at the University of North Florida; activities director for the university; founder of the Rapid Transit club at UNF, which organized whitewater rafting adventures; and a legacy and founding member of the local chapter of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. Mr. Luter also was an assistant baseball coach at the Mandarin Athletic Association for years. He worked 1,000 hours a week and was a positive, productive force for his family, his community and his country.

Betty Johnson Lutz, 84, of the Glenmoor Community at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla., died peacefully Feb. 21, 2011, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a caring friend to all who knew her. She graduated with a B.S. in 1948 and an M.S. in 1950 from The Ohio State University and worked as a dietician for the school. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
She was co-chair of two fundraising cookbooks, one for St. Luke"s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, the other for Hospice of Martin and St. Lucie County, in Stewart, Fla. Throughout her lifetime she was involved in numerous charitable and civic activities. She enjoyed golf, duplicate bridge, cooking, and entertaining. But she mostly cared about taking care of her husband and family.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William H. Lutz Jr.; her son, William J. Lutz; her daughter, Barbara Ellen Lutz; six grandsons, Michael Schulte, David Schulte, Wick Lutz, John Lutz, David Lutz, and Mark Lutz; and her brother, Thomas H. Johnson Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas H. Johnson Sr. and Martha E. Johnson, and her sister, JoAnn Rouse of Somerset, Ohio.
A memorial service and reception will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the Glenmoor Resort Retirement Community.
A service will also be held in Somerset, Ohio, at a later date.

James Ralph "Jimmy" Lydon, 40, St. Augustine, died Feb. 21, 2008, in St. Augustine.
He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and moved to St. Augustine in 2002. Jimmy worked in construction for most of his working life. He was loved by family and friends and has been dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Lydon Grinnen, Cleveland; his father, John Stephen Lydon, St. Augustine; grandmother, Julia Lydon, Cleveland; an aunt, Carol Guk, North Royalton, Ohio; and uncle, Bill Lydon, Cleveland.
He is survived by his maternal grandmother, Alice Matt; half brother, Billy Grinnen; uncle, Butch Temple; aunt, Susie Temple, all of Cleveland; aunt, Mary Jane Gunya, St. Augustine; cousin, Kathie Pappy, St. Augustine; and many cousins in St. Augustine and Ohio.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Charlotte Marie Lynn, 55, of Palatka, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at her residence. She was born in Palatka and had lived most of her life in Palatka. She had formerly worked for Southern Bell in Palatka as an operator. Most recently she had worked as an office manager for two local pediatricians. Charlotte was a member of the Christ Independent Methodist Church in Palatka, where she had sung in the choir. She enjoyed going to the beach, attending concerts, crafts, pottery, sewing, cooking, gardening and especially spending time with her family.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her father, Howard Tomlinson Sr., and one brother, Jimmy Tomlinson.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Dickie Lynn, of Palatka; her mother, Nancy Banks, of Green Cove Springs; three daughters and a son-in-law, Kerry Lynn of Interlachen, Elaine and Kenny Alsabrook of Keystone Heights, and Meghan Lynn of Jacksonville; two sisters, Sharon Arsenault of St. Augustine and Elizabeth Tomlinson of Green Cove Springs; one brother and sister-in-law, Lenny and Kim Tomlinson of Green Cove Springs; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Goodwin of Palatka and Sylvia Gumble of St. Augustine; three grandchildren, Trey Alsabrook, Brandon Lynn and Cooper Alsabrook; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will begin 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Masters Funeral Home in Palatka, with funeral services following at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Amos Price officiating. Stella Lorine Brock Lynn, 85, St. Augustine, died July 18, 2009, at Flagler Hospital. She was a native of Chattanooga, Tenn., and had lived in Florida since 1978. She was a resident of Bayview Nursing Home for the past 13 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 12, Ancient City Baptist Church, and had been an employee of the Belk Department Store.
Lorine was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard M. Lynn, and her brothers Ralph and James Brock. Her parents were Clifford and Cora Brock of Chattanooga.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha L. McAllister of St. Augustine, and daughter and and son-in-law, Linda L. and Ken Griffey of Tennessee. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Tini B. and Jim Theodore, and sister-in-law Barbara Brock Carson, all of St. Augustine. Her grandchildren are Lynne (Bill) Callahan, Andrea (Patrick) Peruski, Lisa (Ed) Fitch, Nicole (Lannie) Ritchie and Matthew Griffey. She had 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, plus numerous nieces and nephews, who all loved her very much.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m., with Eastern Star services beginning at 7 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Shokes officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ralph, Clifford and Jacob Brock; Jonathan and Andrew Johnson; and Bill Cushing.

Howard H. "Bird" Lyon passed away Wednesday, April 1, at the age of 86. He was born in Bridgeport, Conn., and graduated from Stratford High School. He went on to join the Army Medical Corps, serving until 1946.
He received his master's degree in education at Springfield College in 1951 and pursued his career as a coach and director of athletics for The Phelps School in Malvern, Pa., where he remained for 40 years. Along his journey he developed a love for surfing and windsurfing, traveling all over to compete in contests and mentor kids and adults alike along the way. He was inducted into the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame in 2002.
He leaves behind a sister-in-law, Beatrice Lyon of Winter Park; nieces, Joanne Payne and Judy Shattuck, both of Winter Park, and Janet Kern of Orlando; five great-nieces, two great-nephews and their children.

Larry Linnie Lyons, 62, of St. Augustine, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at the Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring, Jacksonville. He was a native of St. Augustine, born Sept. 5, 1946, to the late John Willie and Minnie Lee Lyons. He was a graduate of Richard J. Murray High School, Class of 1964, and moved to Miami to graduate from Florida Memorial College in 1977.
He played forward and lettered on the Murray H.S. basketball team, which won the state championship in 1964. He also lettered in basketball in college.
After graduation from college, he moved to California for many years before retiring to St. Augustine. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War, and he was a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 280 Duval St., St. Augustine, with the Rev. Richard A. Madison, pastor, officiating. Burial will be Monday at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
A viewing will be held 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Chase Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery.
He is survived by sons Stacy Wilson (Deborah) of Kissimmee, and Dietrich Lyons (Priscilla) of Atlanta; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Cora Lee Moore (Johnny), Rosalee Stafford and Essie Martin (Horace), all of St. Augustine, Ruth Baty (John) of Orange Park and Joyce Lyons of Fort Lauderdale; brothers, John Lyons (Rose) of St. Augustine, William Lyons (Helen) of Fort Lauderdale, Ronnie Lyons (Angie) of Woodbridge, Va., Michael Lyons, Jacksonville, and Joey Lyons (Anita) of Stone Mountain, Ga.; one uncle, Sam Lyons of St. Augustine; one aunt, Ruth Miller, Trenton, N.J.; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Virginia Lyttle, 86, passed away peacefully at her home Dec. 23, 2009. She was born and raised in Batavia, N.Y., and had lived in St. Augustine for the past 35 years. She was known to many people as the manager of the St. Augustine Technical Center Bookstore. She was a kind and loving mother, grandmother and aunt.
Survivors include her daughters Bette Lyttle and Donna Herron; granddaughter Megan Herron; sisters Katherine Green and Jane Kirby; nephews Charles, Richard, and Robert Green and Douglas Bennetti; and nieces Karen Faulkner and Tina Klecan.
A memorial service is planned to be held in North Carolina.
