Jack Butler, is an experienced genealogist who has been helping folks
track their ancestors for the last ten years.
He has researched extensively throughout the South,
as well as in New England, Canada and the United Kingdom.
But as a 5
th generation Floridian, with strong ties to neighboring states,
he has a special interest in the family histories of Florida, Georgia and Alabama.

Lecture Topics
Records Organization and Computerization: In genealogy, success breeds large collection of records.
We will take that intimidating pile of paper and turn it into easily accessed and useful data.

Read all about it! Finding Kin in Early Newspapers: This lecture discusses, with examples from
newspapers from around the county, what kind of information is provided and how to find it.
Also discussed are sources for online images of early newspapers,
newspapers on microfilm and other early news.

Territorial Records - Under Used Resource: Territorial records are those records
generated by the organization and settling of those 32 territories held by the U.S. prior to their
eventually achieving statehood.
